Dance to the music Competition Team Rules and Regulations

Each member is selected based on talent, potential, and passion for dance. We pride ourselves in providing our dancers with the tools needed to succeed in the competitive world of dance.
We believe that students exposed to healthy competition learn that NO MATTER WHAT THE RESULTS, the important thing is that we perform to the best of our abilities, while gaining confidence and having fun in the process.
As part of your commitment to the team, and to create a positive atmosphere, each member is expected to:

1. Maintain a positive attitude
2. Be prompt for class
3. Put forth your best effort in every class
4. Miss no more than 3 classes
Plan all vacation and other activities accordingly.
5. When absent, learn the choreography prior to returning to next class
6. Show respect to all parents, faculty members and all fellow dancers in and out of the studio
CYBER BULLYING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

It is mandatory that all members participate in all performances with the exception of serious injuries/illness, or family emergencies.
We encourage our students to broaden their dance education; however, taking class within a 15 mile radius conflicts with your representation of the Dance to the Music competition team. Loyalty is a crucial part in building a strong team, and together that is what we are!
Your schedule is highlighted with the class(es) you were chosen for. In addition, as a minimum requirement, it is mandatory for each team member to take the classes under their category listed below:

Jazz/Tap/Hip Hop/Modern/Character/Lyrical
2 classes per week plus a ballet class

Ballet/Pointe
2 ballet classes per week
For class fees, see regular tuition schedule.

Competitions are usually held between March and May. Each require a registration AND entrance fee. The deadline for these fees is February 1st, 2012. We will inform you of the exact dates and amounts due, as the information becomes available. This will be announced before winter break. Because of strict deadlines, after February 1st , any student with a conflict will be responsible for payment unless replaced by an understudy.

Each costume is $85.00. A discounted price of $75.00 will be offered if paid by October 15th, 2011. All companies charge an additional $10.00 for any extra large sizes, please add accordingly. Additional costs for accessories may be added. Also, certain shoes may be added for different routines. Your teacher will notify you as to what you will need soon after classes begin.

We encourage fundraisers; however, they are the responsibility of the students and parents themselves. If you have an idea or wish to be on a committee, please let us know. Finally, we expect all team parents to be available to assist during the recital and/or dress rehearsal. We really appreciate all your support!

Thank you for your cooperation,
Peggy Maher and Carol Johnson
